Macau: Highest Bungee Jump is over 70 Floors High

The world’s highest bungee jump.

Ever wondered who made the first bungy jump?

It happened in 1979 in a British city called Bristol.  Three university students jumped 250ft (76 m) off a nearby bridge.  They had learned that people from the Pacific Island of Vanuatu had used vines todo jumps from high places.
David kirke, Geoff Tabin and Simon keeling continued to jump from American bridges.

The word “bungee” or bungy seems to mean “anything thick and squat” and it comes from a northern English part of Great Britain.

The Bungy Business

In 1986, seven years after the English jumpers, a man called A.J Hackett was the first New Zealander to jump off Auckland’s Greenhithe Bridge.  This man now owns the highest bungee jump in the world that is located in MACAU.

Kid Karting: This is an Exciting Sport

Kids Who Race Kid Karts.

Perhaps, you are interested in knowing more about Kid Karting.  You may have even seen karts that are designed using 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines.  The word ‘stroke’ is really about how fast the engine runs.  Some karts can travel at 30 to 40 mp/h.

Safety and Good Courses

While dirt-biking is an off road activity, kid karting takes place on an asphalt road.  This is like a normal road that car drive upon.

What are kid karts and what is kid karting? – Kid karts are small versions of racing karts designed for kids aged 5 to 7. They use small 2 stroke or 4 stroke engines that are approx 2HP.  They go anywhere from 30 to 40MPH. Kid Karts race on the same track as any go kart, normally an asphalt road.

If Your Parents are Interested in Kid Karting…..

The first thing that parents do is to bring you to the nearest Kart course.  If you haven’t tried karting before, now is a good opportunity to see if you like it.  You need to be really dedicated as Karts are expensive to buy and to maintain.  There may be fees to be paid if you enter competitions.

Styles/Types of Karts

fully body kart

Ther eis the ‘full body” or another type is the  CIK.  This means that your kart will have full body plastic all around the kart.  Full body karts usually have the bigger 4-stroke engines.

The more common style of Kid Kart is CIK.  This is a typical European Kart with plastic pods and bumpers.  All of the hardware is metric.  There are probably 30 different brands of these karts.  They are much more common at sprint karting road coarse tracks.

Engines –

The most common engine is the Comer C50.

Then there is the Hondaengine.

The Big Engine.

Finally, a third engine that has gained some popularity is the Briggs LO206.  The Briggs LO206 is an engine that a racer can literally use from when they are in Kid Karts all the way up to when they are adults.

Karts – Most parents will want you to get a used kart.  They want to know that you will be fully committed to the sport. A used kart can cost between $500 USA to $1,000 USA.  Then the engine will cost another $500 USA.

Brand Name Karts

Some of the more popular quality karts to look for include TopKart, Birel, Praga, Margay, and Tony Kart.

Sports are Important.

The important thing is to be active in a sport.  It keeps your body fit and it give you the opportunity to meet you friends.

Kids: Here are Some Great Ways to Look After Your Dog

A dog is part of the family.

It has rights like you.  It needs to be fed.  It needs to be loved.

It does not need to be treated unkindly – yelled at, kicked, dragged, etc.

You would not like this to happen to you.  Animals feel pain like humans and they can feel fear.

-They do not understand your language – only a few words like

“Come”  “Sit”  “Down”  “Up” and maybe a few more.

You Have Made Mistakes, too!

As a human, you have made mistakes.   Someone told you about your mistake.

You understood them because you speak their langugage.   A dog needs to shown gently about his or her mistake.   Sometimes, it takes time for the dog to get it right.  Do the right thing – have kindness and patience.

O.K Human Person – You are NOT going to Play Today!

Imagine the situation.  You are NOT sick.   You have not been bad.  Your parents simply won’t give you permission to go outside and play.  Let’s make it a lovely sunny day.   You want to know – Why not?

“I have my ball, let’s play!”

If you don’t take your dog out for walks – you are doing this to him or her.  Dogs like humans like to play and have fun.  Dogs can smell things better than humans.   When a dog is outside, it is like smelling things that you really like – smells of french fries or a bbq.  Dogs need to stop and smell things.  Don’t drag a dog along – let him or her stop and smell things.

Never Hit or Kick an Animal!

One dog knows that the other dog is hurt

If someone kicked you badly and you were in pain, your parents would take you to the doctor or hospital.  If the pain was really bad, you would get pills or pain killers.  You can speak and tell adults that you are in pain.

An animal cannot do this.   If your dog has been hit or kicked, it will have to suffer hours of pain.  This is just NOT fair.  If you are angry with your dog, walk away and tell your parents about it.  I’ll bet that your dog really does not fully understand what it did.

Think of Your Dog Like it was a Toddler

I will explain what I mean.   A toddler has accidents – it knocks over things.  It may pee somewhere other than the toilet.  You can yell at the toddler but it does not understand your language.  In fact, if you yell or shake it, the toddler will cry.   Its the same with your dog – the dog cries inside.  Its feelings are hurt.   A dog wants to please.  Be gentle and kind with it.

Don’t Feed Human Food to Your Dog!

Don’t give your dog human food

It is NOT kind to feed a dog things that you eat, unless its a nice piece of steak that you couldn’t eat.  What I am writing about is things like donuts or French fries.    NEVER give your dog CHOCOLATE – it can kill or make your dog very sick.  If you want to reward it, give the dog doggie treats.

Look after your dog/cat/any pet-  and you will never regret it!

History of Kites with Images – So, Go Fly a Kite!

History of Kites

No one can explain when the first kite was made, but most experts believe that China was the first country to fly kites.  One legend tells of a  farmer who invented a kite to keep his hat on while he was working.

Other experts state that the first kite was made in the Chinese city of Shandong.  The first kites were made from light materials such as paper and silk and were  framed by bamboo.

Traders from China brought kites with them to Korea and India.  It is said that Chinese Buddhist monks used kites to scare away ‘evil spirits’ that might attack the plants and crops.

Marco Polo

Marco Polo was an Italian who was one of the first Europeans to visit and trade with China.  In 1295 he drew kites and wrote about them.

Scientists Use Kites

A Scottish meteorologist named Alexander Wilson used a kite with a thermometer attach to measure the temperature at 3,000 feet.  This was in the year 1749.  Three years later Benjamin Franklin and his son flew a kite and proved that lightning was indeed electricity.

Kite Flying Around the World

In 1964, The American Kitefliers Association was formed and now has over 4000 members in at least 35 nations. Their annual convention is the largest gathering of serious kite fliers in the World.

So what are you waiting for…..”Go fly a kite!”

Be Our Guest Song: Beauty and the Beast for Kids

Be Our Guest
Be our guest
Be our guest
Put our service to the test
Tie your napkin ’round your neck, cherie
And we provide the rest
Soup du jour
Hot hors d’oeuvres
Why, we only live to serve
Try the grey stuff, it’s delicious
Don’t believe me? Ask the dishes
They can sing
They can dance
After all, Miss, this is France
And a dinner here is never second best
Go on, unfold your menu
Take a glance and then you’ll
Be our guest
Oui, our guest
Be our guest
Beef ragout
Cheese souffle
Pie and pudding “en flambe”
We’ll prepare and serve with flair
A culinary cabaret
You’re alone
And you’re scared
But the banquet’s all prepared
No one’s gloomy or complaining
While the flatware’s entertaining
We tell jokes
I do tricks
With my fellow candlesticks
And it’s all in perfect taste that you can bet
Come on and lift your glass
You’ve won your own free pass
To be out guest
If you’re stressed
It’s fine dining we suggest
Be our guest
Be our guest
Be our guest
Life is so unnerving
For a servant who’s not serving
He’s not whole without a soul to wait upon
Ah, those good old days when we were useful
Suddenly those good old days are gone
Ten years we’ve been rusting
Needing so much more than dusting
Needing exercise, a chance to use our skills
Most days we just lay around the castle
Flabby, fat and lazy
You walked in and oops-a-daisy!
It’s a guest
It’s a guest
Sakes alive, well I’ll be blessed
Wine’s been poured and thank the Lord
I’ve had the napkins freshly pressed
With dessert
She’ll want tea
And my dear that’s fine with me
While the cups do their soft shoeing
I’ll be bubbling, I’ll be brewing
I’ll get warm
Piping hot
Heaven’s sakes! Is that a spot?
Clean it up! We want the company impressed
We’ve got a lot to do
Is it one lump or two
For you, our guest
She’s our guest
She’s our guest
She’s our guest
Be our guest
Be our guest
Our command is your request
It’s ten years since we had anybody here
And we’re obsessed
With your meal
With your ease
Yes, indeed, we aim to please
While the candlelight’s still glowing
Let us help you
We’ll keep going
Course by course
One by one
‘Til you shout, enough, I’m done
Then we’ll sing you off to sleep as you digest
Tonight you’ll prop your feet up
But for now, let’s eat up
Be our guest
Be our guest
Be our guest
Please, be our guest

Twist Your Tongue Around Tongue Twisters Too!

A skunk sat on a stump. The stump thought the skunk stunk. the skunk thought the stump stunk . What stunk, the skunk or the stump?

•Mix a box of mixed biscuits with a boxed biscuit mixer.

A big bug bit the little beetle but the little beetle bit the big bug back.

•A proper copper coffee pot.

Black bug bit a big black bear. But where is the big black bear that the big black bug bit?

•I saw Esau sitting on a seesaw. Esau, he saw me.•

If you understand, say “understand”.

If you don’t understand, say “don’t understand”.

But if you understand and say “don’t understand”.

How do I understand that you understand? Understand!

One-One was a racehorse.
Two-Two was one, too.
When One-One won one race,
Two-Two won one, too.

I wish to wish the wish you wish to wish, but if you wish the wish the witch wishes, I won’t wish the wish you wish to wish.

I thought, I thought of thinking of thanking you.

The Little Drummer Boy Lyrics on an Exciting And Varied Site for Kids

Come, they told me
Pa rum pum pum pum
A new born King to see
Pa rum pum pum pum

Our finest gifts we bring
Pa rum pum pum pum
To lay before the kIng
Pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum

So to honor Him
Pa rum pum pum pum
When we come

Little baby
Pa rum pum pum pum
I am a poor boy too
Pa rum pum pum pum
I have no gift to bring
Pa rum pum pum pum
That’s fit to give our King
Pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum

Shall I play for you
Pa rum pum pum pum
On my drum

Mary nodded
Pa rum pum pum pum
The ox and lamb kept time
Pa rum pum pum pum
I played my drum for Him
Pa rum pum pum pum
I played my best for Him
Pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum

Then He smiled at me
Pa rum pum pum pum
Me and my drum

“Morningtown Ride” by Seekers: Train-ride to Dreams

Train whistle blowin’,
Makes a sleepy noise;
Underneath their blankets
Go all the girls and boys.
Rockin’, rollin’, ridin’,
Out along the bay,
All bound for Morningtown,
Many miles away.

Driver at the engine,
Fireman rings the bell,
Sandman swings the lantern
To show that all is well.

Rockin’, rollin’, ridin’,
Out along the bay,
All bound for Morningtown,
Many miles away.

Maybe it is raining
Where our train will ride;
All the little travellers
Are warm and snug inside.

Rockin’, rollin’, ridin’,
Out along the bay,
All bound for Morningtown,
Many miles away.

Somewhere there is sunshine,
Somewhere there is day,
Somewhere there is Morningtown,
Many miles away.

Rockin’, rollin’, ridin’,
Out along the bay,
All bound for Morningtown,
Many miles away.

Rockin’, rollin’, ridin’,
Out along the bay,
All bound for Morningtown,
Many miles away.
