Pauline here.  I just want you to know that Donkeys are NOT stubborn.  Donkeys are sometimes scared about doing new things.  A horse will cross a stream, but a donkey needs to know how deep it is.  Once he or she understands that there is no danger, a donkey will cross the stream.
